Apprenticeships are arguably the best way to start a career in hairdressing or barbering.

Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to earn a wage whilst working in a salon or barbershop environment, learn from experienced hairdressers and/or barbers, and continually develop your skills and knowledge.

The new apprenticeship standards have been designed by employers to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they require from employees to carry out a specific job role.

Apprenticeships combine working in a salon/barbershop with off-the-job training where you will either come to our training academy or our educators will visit you in the workplace.

Apprentices are required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week and are entitled to apprenticeship national minimum wage.

On completion, apprentices will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

• Be unemployed or earning under £18,525 per year
